Hello Horse Branch families! Pepsi orders have been sorted and will be ready for pickup today at 3:45 PM, right after buses dismiss. Please wait in your vehicle, and someone will assist you with loading your order. Pepsi has requested that all plastic cases be returned. Once your drinks have been delivered, please return the empty cases to Horse Branch Elementary. Thank you so much for supporting Horse Branch PTO!

This is a reminder that the Ohio County Hospital is at Horse Branch Elementary in the library today, providing student vaccinations. They will be here until 4:00 p.m. A parent or guardian must be present for your child to receive their vaccination.

We are looking forward to seeing you tonight at Horse Branch for Family Reading Night. We have a lot of activities for your family to enjoy while learning. Chili will be served for the family. Of course, the Book Fair will be open for you to shop with your child/grandchildren. We plan to formally start our event at 5:30 and end at 7:00. We are aware that the starting time on the flyer was 5:00. We apologize for the confusion.

Hi families! Just a reminder that tomorrow, Wednesday, September 3rd, is Picture Day! Make sure your child comes to school on time, dressed to impress, and ready to show off their best smile!

Amazon Day will take place on Thursday, August 28th. Students in Kindergarten through 6th grade will have the opportunity to shop and choose one item, either for themselves or for a family member. Please note that some items may be too large to bring home on the bus. In those cases, parents or guardians will need to pick up the item at their earliest convenience.

For the safety of students at Horse Branch Elementary School, we request that parents picking up students as car riders wait patiently. Do not attempt to pull out of line and go around other vehicles. This can cause a safety hazard, as sometimes students are still loading into vehicles and may exit unexpectedly. We would appreciate your help in keeping our students safe.

On Friday, August 15, Horse Branch will dismiss 5 minutes early. Car riders will dismiss at 3:05 instead of 3:10.

On Thursday, August 14, Horse Branch will dismiss 10 minutes early. Car riders will dismiss at 3:00 instead of 3:10.

Ohio County Schools will have an early dismissal this week. On Tuesday, August 12, we will dismiss 20 minutes early. Car riders will dismiss at 2:50 instead of 3:10. Thank you for making arrangements to ensure your child is picked up on time.

Tonight from 5:30 to 7:00 PM is the Horse Branch Back-to-School Bash! The evening will kick off in the gym at 5:30 PM, followed by a chance to meet your teachers and visit your classrooms. Pizza will be served in the cafeteria. The Ohio County Hospital will be on site offering free immunizations, and from 3:00 to 7:00 PM, Stacy and Lindsey Woolen will be providing free haircuts. To schedule a haircut, please contact Debbie Goff at 270-955-0928. We hope to see you there!

Kentucky Department of Education has made some changes in the medication procedures we must adhere to. We still have medical professional standing orders for medications such as: Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Tums, cough drops, etc. with written parental permission. Any other medications outside the standing orders must have a medical professional’s signature in order to be given at school.

If medications are to be taken during the school day, please have your medical professional complete the Permission Form for Prescribed or Over-the-Counter Medication.

This form can be found on the district website under Quick Links – New Medication Guidelines or it can be obtained at your child’s school.
